Irma Cleanup Begins!

Irma Cleanup Begins!

Hi Everyone,

I hope most of you came through Irma with minimal or no damage. As we know, there are some of our church family and neighbors that were unfortunately impacted pretty hard. We are happy to report that our church received only the expected amount of damage, so clean up should be relatively quick, especially with many willing hearts and hands pitching in. Some of our dear members have gotten the ball rolling but there is plenty more to be done.

Our campus will be very busy and bustling this week (and the coming weeks) as we house a local school displaced by flooding. That won’t impede our cleanup efforts however. Most of the cleanup is away from the classrooms. If you have some spare time this week and a desire to help, just show up at the church and we will have rakes, wheelbarrows, waters, maybe some lunch available. (if you have your own equipment and want to bring it that would be great too)

There are 2 trees that will need attention. There is a group dedicated to trying to save our beloved Tabebuia tree. We did lose some shingles on the Sanctuary and Sample Hall roofs but we are happy to report that our new roof over the classrooms held up like a champ!!
We look forward to seeing many of you this week as we continue cleaning up our beautiful campus.
