Parish Associate, Dr. Ray Gamble Our congregation is fortunate that Dr. Ray Gamble’s deep affection for IRPC prompted him to accept the session’s invitation to serve in a part-time capacity as Parish Associate.
The primary focus for Dr. Ray, who previously served as Interim Pastor, is on care giving ministries, which include personal visitation to shut-ins and to those in the hospital. He also collaborates with Pastor Dana in memorial responsibilities.
Dr. Ray also works with Pastor Dana to expand and enhance the ministry of care within the church and to help provide the education to support those ministries.
Dr. Ray has what is probably a unique record, having been ordained in this Presbytery 46 years ago and serving in it ever since. Also, he probably holds the record for longevity in his home, having lived in Jensen Beach since 1974.
Dr. Ray served as founder and pastor of Palm City Presbyterian Church for 19 years. He was the founder/pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Palm Beach Gardens and also Palm City Presbyterian Church in Palm City. He attended Union Theological Seminary, Yale Divinity School, and Columbia Theological Seminary. Among his many skills Dr. Ray also has extensive training in drug abuse programs, mental health, marriage and family therapy.
