I thank God for all He has done for me

Since the summer of my 6th grade year, I have been on six youth trips with this church. Every single one of those trips changed my life, and I know I would not be where I am if I did not go on them. Four of those trips were service trips, where we served the community where we stayed. Each place, Bayou La Batre, AL, Newport, TN, Talladega, AL, and San Ramon, Costa Rica, offered a new and exciting lesson that I could use to serve people in my own community. In three of those places, I helped with children’s ministries in the area.

Leadership developed, life changed

My first experience in student ministry was on a mission trip.  In 2005, Dustin Sterrett was in a real bind.  He needed an extra adult leader on our Student Mission Trip to Newport, Tennessee.  One of the other adult leaders had an injury and was unable to go on the trip.  This was in early June, the trip was slated for July.  So Dustin asked me to join him on this trip.

Short term missions change lives
 The iXo Ministry Team believes that short term youth mission trips can bring life change to our youth, our community and our Church. Within a relatively short period of time, our church’s youth and a stranger’s life can be powerfully changed through the desire to give to a community. Their presence during a mission trip speaks more than a thousand words through their simple love and willingness to serve.
